NVidia Unveils New Super GPUs for Higher Performance Computing

As more cinema cameras update to shoot in 8K and above, plus the ever-expanding applications supporting artificial intelligence, the need for GPUs to do greater heavy lifting during the post-production process becomes paramount.
To that end, Nvidia has announced a new line of so-called “Super GPUs” crammed with more RAM and more powerful, AI-driven tools.
“For everyone from gaming enthusiasts to creative professionals, GeForce RTX SUPER GPUs are simply awesome upgrades,” said Matt Wuebbling, vice president of global GeForce marketing at NVIDIA.

“GeForce RTX SUPER cards support over 500 RTX games and applications and will have users prepared for the wave of generative AI apps coming to PC.”

The new Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060-4080 Super GPUs in regular and Ti configurations come with up to 16GB of G6x RAM, 256 bits, and up to 20% more memory cores that make these cards 1 1/2 to 2 times faster than the RTX 3000 series.
For content creators, the RTX40 Super series is a major upgrade giving users support for real time rendering of up to 80 frames per second in 4K.
3D apps like Blender and Cinema 4D will run up to 70% faster, helping creators complete more complex tasks in less time, producing better results and speeding delivery.

Moreover, with the more powerful Super GPUs, users can change elements of a character in real-time, such as changing their background, hair color, or even the clothes they wear. This will make it possible to make changes to a scene during post-production that doesn’t require expensive reshoots.

Incorporating generative AI into the post-production workflow has also dramatically improved. Using Stable Diffusion XL in 1080p, NVidia has clocked the 4000 Super Series to be significantly faster in generative AI applications than the previous Ti generation. Generating video at up to 25 frames per second is also 1.5 times faster using ComfyUI.

Streaming live video at greater resolution is also possible with NVidia RTX Super GPUs being able to broadcast 3 concurrent live video streams through Twitch’s new Enhanced Broadcasting Video app.
In Beta, the EBV app allows users to stream on different platforms and devices and will potentially expand to up to five concurrent streams with a future update.

NVidia’s Super Series will also enable users to stream using the latest higher resolution, and higher frame rate codecs, including AV1 through Nvidia’s 8th-generation encoders, which are incorporated into all 40 Series RTX Super GPUs.
Users will be able to enhance microphone and camera outputs, create virtual green screens, and even follow talent within the shot without moving the camera or losing resolution.
