SWIT Electronics has just announced the release of two new Bi-Color LED lights, the PLS300D (soft) and PLS300H (hard). These lights are aiming to cater to the needs of professional studios. Earlier, the company announced the CIMO Cine V-mount series of new batteries, and now they are announcing the release of two new LED light panels.SWIT PL-S300D Soft studio LED light. Credit: SWITPL-S300D Bi-Color Soft LightAccording to the company, the new soft light features 1,200 SMD LEDs (SMDs are powered by five LED chips with 20-degree beam angles per chip clustered together, in contrast to normal LEDs, which use three to four high-powered LED chips with 25 to 40-degree beam angles).The light is enhanced with an “organic light diffuser” made by S Polytech. SWIT states 10,000 Lux at 1 meter with this light and a 120° beam angle.SWIT PL-S300H LED reflectors Credit: SWITPL-S300H Bi-Color Hard LightThe panel in this light is designed for focused illumination with high intensity. SWIT mentions that each LED features its own dedicated “Fly-Eye and 45° reflector”. The 45° half-peak beam angle offers a balance between high illuminance and uniformity of the light spot. To maintain silent operation in studios, the fixtures are fanless and achieve this by having a passive cooling design. The color temperature range is adjustable from 2700K to 6500K. DMX allows easy control of dimming and color temperature.
