Lake & Skye 11 11 Vanilla Eau de Parfum is a new vanilla, marshmallow fragrance that launched for the Fall 2024 season. Everyone is losing their entire minds over the fact it contains notes of vanilla crème and marshmallow but it likely won’t be the gourmand you think it is. I’ve been doing a lot of research on this fragrance but haven’t yet smelled it in person. Sadly, none of my local stores got it yet and I’m vacation at the moment and likely won’t smell it till I get home. But after all my googling I do know one thing, it’s not a safe blindbuy if you’re a gourmand girlie or guy.
Vanilla is having a huge moment in the world of fragrance and as a lover of the note I’m more than happy about it having the spotlight. Marshmallow is another note that’s been pretty heavily pushed lately and again, I don’t hate that at all. But having the two together? Well, that’s just pure joy for anyone who loves a gourmand fragrance! But in order for that to work you do need the dry down to combine those two notes together and sadly, they are both in the middle of the fragrance with the base being amber, skin musk, and teakwood which means you’re getting more of a woodsy fragrance versus a creamy, fluffy vanilla marshmallow blend. Sorry to disappoint…! Of course, we have had similar fragrances that do woodsy and vanilla beautifully well like By Rose Jane Dulce. But after reading tons of reviews on Lake & Skye 11 11 Vanilla it appears this is more of a skin scent and dare I go so far as to say some people have been comparing it to a clean version of The Body Shop White Musk. P.S. I didn’t realize The Body Shop White Musk has been discontinued…! How sad I love that scent and still have three bottles of it in my collection.
Sorry, I got off topic, let’s get back to 11 11 Vanilla and break down these notes. This starts out with fresher, crisp notes of sea salt and start apple. The middle notes are where we all want to be with vanilla creme and marshmallow with passionflower as well. And finally, the base notes are where we get a more softer, cleaner, skin scent with sheer amber, teakwood, and skin musk.
Lake & Skye 11 11 Vanilla Eau de Parfum isn’t the gourmand we may be thinking it is but I’m 100% positive I’m going to start seeing Tiktokers tell me it is. This is probably beautiful but not a fluffy marshmallow perfume but more of a clean girl aesthetic one. Am I disappointed? A little as I’d love a true marshmallow fragrance but I don’t mind a clean musk either. I’ll have to smell this and let you know what I really think.
