Rumor has it Apple is getting rid of its FineWoven iPhone cases and watch bands.Apple launched the cases and watch bands last fall as an eco-friendly alternative to its leather accessories; however, customers have complained that the material the accessories are made with collect dirt and are easily scuffed, among other durability issues. The cases also cost the same as its previous leather line, making those issues a tough pill to swallow.Amazon also added a “frequently returned” label to the cases on its site. In a review, one Amazon customer referred to the case as “the biggest waste of money in my life.”Now, one leaker on Twitter claims that Apple is ditching the line entirely with plans to move to another non-leather material for the line, 9to5Mac reports.

As for what material, we’ll likely find out at the company’s traditional September event for the Apple Watch and iPhone 16. The event is typically when Apple chooses to show off the year’s new cases and watch bands as well as other accessories.
