Binge Smart: This Streaming Service Tops Netflix on Value

Streaming service price hikes are a regular occurrence these days, so how do you know which ones are worth your money? Searchbloom ranked the top 10 streaming services in the US based on titles offered per dollar, and Amazon Prime Video came out on top.Standalone Prime Video offers 17,265 titles for $11.99 a month (if you pay the extra $3 to remove ads), giving subscribers 1,440 titles per dollar spent, the largest catalog among the top 10. Netflix is second with 518 titles per dollar, and Peacock is third with 450 titles per dollar.

The study also shed light on the average price hike implemented by each streaming platform since its launch. Disney+ tops that list with an average annual hike of 18.1%, which is three times more than any other platform. A recent study by Forbes found that 44% of respondents said they will most likely cancel their Disney subscription if there’s another price hike. The other nine services increased subscription prices by less than 5.5% a year. Crunchyroll is the only one that hasn’t bumped the $7.99 price of its standard plan since launch, though it did raise prices on its higher-tier Mega and Ultimate plans in May.”With rising subscription costs, it’s crucial for users to get the most value for their money. For instance, subscribing to all the top five services in this list would cost around $60 a month, making it essential for Americans to weigh their options and prioritize services that offer the most titles per dollar. This growing focus on cost-efficiency shapes how people choose which platforms to keep in their streaming lineup,” says Cody Jensen, CEO and founder of Searchbloom.
