iPhone 16

The new iPhone is made with AI in mind, with a new processor and more

Today, Apple announced the iPhone 16 and the larger-screen iPhone 16 Plus. The latest version of the cell phone that changed the world is getting a processor upgrade, with the new A18 CPU and a RAM boost up to 8GB at minimum. That’s not surprising, considering the heavier resource load that Apple Intelligence, the new AI features, will require. The iPhone 15 line used a bunch of different processors across its versions, so consolidating to one single chip makes a lot of sense.A redesigned and rounded camera module with improved lenses is the most notable change on the exterior, which comes in five different colors. The baseline iPhone and the iPhone Plus come with two rear cameras, as well as a dedicated camera button that taps into the AI-powered Visual Intelligence tool coming in a later iOS release. The contextual Action button seen on the last generation of iPhone Pros is also included here. For size, the 16 has a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus has a 6.7-inch display. Both have a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. An even bigger battery is also included, as well as improved thermal design for better gaming performance. It looks like a really solid update to an already iconic phone. The iPhone 16 will officially go on sale on September 13, starting at $799

iPhone 16 Pro

Bigger and badder for creatives, gamers and high-end users

Two models of the Pro were also trotted out. The more expensive mobiles boast all of the improvements above and a whole lot more. Hardware-wise, the company says the phone includes four studio-quality microphones that make it usable for recording music, presentations and more with improved clarity. A trio of cameras including a new 48MP ultra wide camera with a quad pixel sensor and larger cache for capturing fast-moving objects increases the potential for unique snaps.. You can also now shoot 4K in 120p for epic slow-motion effects. The A18 Pro CPU enables lots of high-end effects, including multi-layered voice memos, automated summaries, contextual image searching and more. It also uses 20 percent less power than the A17 Pro processor did, which Apple promises results in the longest battery life ever. Finally, they also have the biggest screens of any iPhones in history, at 6.3 inches fpr the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max.The iPhone 16 Pro will officially go on sale on September 20, starting at $999

AirPods 4

The most feature-filled version yet, with long battery life and spatial audio

The new baseline AirPods take inspiration from the fancier AirPods Pro, with two models new for 2024. The AirPods 4 come in two varieties: a baseline model for $129 and a version with active noise cancellation for $179. Both have the shorter stem design from the AirPods Pro, with higher-quality sound and personalized spatial audio. Improved Find My features are also along for the ride, as is wireless charging. One of the most fascinating new features is the ability to use the AirPods 4 as a hearing aid. The headphones include a suite of hearing loss-related tools, as well as the ability to use them to protect your ears at loud events like concerts. Both models of AirPods 4 will be available on September 20 for $129 and $179, respectively.

The Apple Watch hits the double digits, and the market-leading wearable gets some incremental changes. The wide-angle OLED display is larger than the Apple Watch Ultra, with more usable real estate and rounded corners. It’s 40% brighter when seen at an angle as well.
