HP Labor Day Sale: Big Deals and Discounts on Laptops, Printers, and More

Labor Day weekend means the unofficial end of summer, and even though the sun sets earlier, there’s still something to celebrate: big sales from almost every major electronics retailer and manufacturer. HP is rolling out some impressive prices we’ve ever seen on a bevy of products, from one of the best productivity mice we’ve seen at 75% off to an affordable gaming desktop with nice customization options and a surprisingly lightweight powerhouse laptop. We’ll be monitoring this sale through the weekend to keep prices current and spotlight new offers

A mobile workstation like the ZBook Firefly has a tough row to hoe, packing high-end components for demanding software while still being portable enough to tote around. This laptop handles it adroitly, with durable construction and a tremendous DreamColor screen. In our review, we said that it was “well suited to everyday productivity and moderate content creation,” praising its impressive selection of ports, comfortable keyboard and long battery life. This is a fancy configuration, with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS 5.1 GHz processor, AMD Radeon 780M graphics, 32GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.

HP makes a lot of printers for a lot of different markets, but if you’re just looking for something unobtrusive but flexible to have around the house for occasional lost cat flyers, holiday letters or other uses, the Envy 6455e is a great choice, especially at $60 off with three free months of HP+ Instant Ink. In our review of this unit, we said that it was “a sensible solution for families and home offices with relatively low print and copy needs—say, 100 to 200 pages per month.” With a 35-page automatic document feeder, it has higher capacity than many other printers in this price bracket, and it’s a breeze to operate.

While HP’s gaming machines don’t get the same attention that more focused manufacturers do, they’re certainly capable and hit a good price point for the components they offer. We reviewed the Omen 40L just a little while ago and said “don’t underestimate what it can do,” giving kudos to its “sleek, smoked-glass front panel,” multiple expansion slots and USB ports, and its easy access for additional configuration. This mid-range model comes with an Intel Core i7-14700K processor, GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card, 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD.

If your ordinary mouse—or, worse, your laptop touchpad—isn’t giving you the input sensitivity you need, the time might be right to trade up to a mouse that does more. HP’s 935 Creator wireless mouse is a hand-friendly device that’s wireless, responsive and packed with features. We reviewed its predecessor, the virtually identical 930 Creator, and raved about how tweakable it was as well as battery life. The 935 gives you a staggering 12 weeks of charge, has seven customizable buttons, can be paired to as many as three devices and the track-on-glass sensor lets it work on all kinds of surfaces. Great mouse at a great 75% off.

HP’s Envy desktop won raves from us in our review, where we declared the small-sized tower to be a “proficient everyday PC, offering excellent productivity performance in an attractive chassis with room for expansion.” At under four hundred bucks, this is a great way to set up a home computer that will meet the needs of everybody in the family, with an Intel Core i3-14100 that clocks up to 4.7GHz, 8GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. It’s certainly not set up for next-generation gaming, but for Web surfing, media streaming, productivity and more it’s a hit.
