Fourteen Democrats in the House of Representatives joined with their Republican colleagues to pass a resolution denouncing President Joe Biden’s border policy and “condemning the national security and public safety crisis along the southwest border.”The non-binding resolution urges Biden to “end his administration’s open-borders policies.”US Customs and Border Protection reported record numbers of apprehensions at the southern border in 2021, 2022, and 2023. On several days in December, the number of migrants apprehended at the border reached 10,000. While Republicans have been hammering Biden over the border throughout his presidency, the issue has drawn criticism from both parties.Every Republican who voted on the resolution, 211, voted in favor, while 187 Democrats voted against it. The 14 Democrats who voted to pass the resolution generally represent swing districts, while one, Rep.
