Many Apple IDs Were Unexpectedly Reset Last Night



Some Apple users are reportedly being unexpectedly locked out of their Apple IDs. Users reported being locked out of their accounts across multiple devices Friday evening. After being logged out, many of those users’ passwords no longer worked and they were forced to reset them before regaining access to their accounts.Reports of the issue started around 8 p.m. ET Friday evening and continued into the early hours of the morning Saturday.

9to5Mac notes that Apple’s System Status web page doesn’t list any issues with any Apple services.Resetting your password can be a headache if you have Stolen Device Protection enabled on your device and are away from a trusted location. Resetting your password also clears any app-specific passwords you have set up via iCloud, which is another headache of its own.
