The new Kondor Blue Stalman clamp for mobile phones is designed to give content creators a stable and steady mount when shooting vertical video.
Designed to be the first vertical-centric camera clamp, the Stalman has a host of additional features that give creators a leg up when shooting video for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other vertical video platforms.
“I really enjoy the iPhone for photography, filmmaking, and tech,” says designer Tyler Stalman. “So I wanted to make a tool to help improve that workflow.”

While designing, Stalman says he was constantly thinking about the filmmaking professionals looking to ply their craft within the vertical video space. As a result, the Stalman is the first clamp to prioritize vertical video.

The Stalman Clamp is designed to provide strong clamping force to keep mobile platforms secure while filming mobile video while having anti-twist mounts for standard ARRI style spacing.
The clamp was designed through a collaboration between Kondor Blue and designer/creator Tyler Stalman (hence the name).
It has an ultra-smooth spring-loaded tension with nylon guides and enough range to securely hold even the largest Pro Max-sized iPhones. It is also designed with camera block-out clearance to prevent any vignetting or obscuring to keep the camera lenses unobstructed.
The clamp is compatible with DJI Arca plates and has a mini dovetail to easily access USB-C power and an integrated 40 Gbps USB-C Elbow adapter which supports most mobile phone cases so that they don’t have to be removed while shooting.
This provides additional safety from a user’s preferred phone case and peace of mind.

The elbow adapter also supports fast charging at a mind-boggling 240 watts, which Stalman admits is overkill for today’s modern mobile devices. It is held magnetically in place by the mini dovetail plate and features a 1/4-20 twist mount to point the mount towards the back of the phone so it can support additional accessories, including most Kondor Blue mounts and tools.
The pro mounting options designed into the Stalman enable users to rig the phone to a minimal basic configuration or to build it out complete with additional tools such as SSD mounts, monitor recorders, and any other add-ons to create a more cinematic solution.
Stalman also wanted to continue to use his phone as a phone and made the claim snug enough to keep it on throughout the day and even be able to slip the phone into a pocket without having to remove it.
Lastly, there are 1/4-20” mounts on the back, bottom, and top with locator pins to provide additional attachments. It has even been designed to securely mount wireless microphone transmitters without additional hardware.
The only real downside of the Stalman Clamp is the price tag, which retails for about $75.00. For a phone mount.
Granted, it’s designed with more professional applications in mind, but considering that other mobile phone clamps can provide vertical video mounting as well as landscape, plus have additional attachment points for about half the price, one would have to really want the Stalman Clamp to pluck down that amount of money.
But based on the videos, it’s likely that users will be satisfied with its performance. Available in Raven Black and Space Gray.
