Verizon is now letting you add a second number to your phone.New and existing postpaid customers will be able to add another line to their phone for $10 a month through June 5, as long as their current phone is a dual SIM device. After that date, users will pay $15 a month for the extra line. Dual SIMs allow users to switch between phone numbers without needing a second phone. You’ll be able to swap between lines for both phone and messaging apps and see which line is receiving the call or message. When you respond, the number that received the message will be the one that sends the message back. The second line will offer unlimited talk and text in the US, Canada, and Mexico, but will not have any additional data services. Your primary line will be responsible for supplying access to the internet.

Getting a second phone number isn’t new. There are plenty of apps and services that offer them for little or no cost. That said, this is one of the first times that a major carrier is supporting the service by offering a number that is integrated with your current phone plan.
