Obsbot shows off its first live stream video switcher, the Obsbot Talent

Video switchers have become all the rage over the last few years. No longer content with just shoving our camera into an Elgato Cam Link, we want to force multiple cameras into a box and have them all available simultaneously at our fingertips.

Well, now, AI camera manufacturer Obsbot is getting into multicam. It’s the new Obsbot Talent, and we got to take a quick look at one during NAB 2024 in Las Vegas.

Obsbot Talent – Tablet streaming box

There isn’t a massive amount of information about the Obsbot Talent besides what’s shown in the video above. There isn’t even a product page for it on the company’s website yet.

It joins an ever-growing list of devices, like the Blackmagic Atem Mini series, Feelworld’s LivePro series, and the range of YoloBox products from Yololiv. These are just a handful of new video-switching products that have adorned our desks over the last few years.

As such, Obsbot is keeping the release details a secret for now, with the price being chief among them. It’s a logical decision. If the Obsbot Talent isn’t quite final yet and they release a price now, a competitor could beat them to the punch.

Streams to multiple platforms

All that being said, the Obsbot Talent is a touchscreen video changer with multiple HDMI and UVC (USB-C Video) inputs, along with NDI support. It integrates with Obsbot’s line of PTZ and AI-tracking cameras to help automate the live multicam production process.

It’s capable of streaming natively to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, NDI, RTMP, etc. Of course, you can also just take a feed out and bring it into your laptop running OBS or some other streaming software.

For Obsbot camera users, it should fill a unique hole in the industry. It will be interesting to see how it fares in the larger industry where a lot of devices are all starting to blend into one.

Price and Availability

The company is actively not releasing a price for the Obsbot Talent at this point in time. They want to keep it a secret until it’s all ready. This isn’t a surprise given the wealth of competition already in this market.

Obsbot has said that they’re hoping to release in August or September, but that they’re hoping to get it done sooner. But we all know this can also mean it may be delayed. So, don’t get too excited until an actual announcement comes.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
