OpenAI is reportedly working on a new project, named Strawberry, that would bring advanced reasoning capabilities to its AI models.According to Reuters, the AI model could perform research. Precise details aren’t known because the project is currently a work in progress; however, Reuter’s source says that the AI will be able to “navigate the internet autonomously” to perform “deep research.”Details about how Strawberry works are reportedly being kept a tight secret, even within OpenAI.In a statement to Reuters regarding the model, a company spokesperson said, “We want our AI models to see and understand the world more like we do. Continuous research into new AI capabilities is a common practice in the industry, with a shared belief that these systems will improve in reasoning over time.”Strawberry is thought to be a renamed version of OpenAI’s project Q, which was reported last year.Earlier this week, Bloomberg reported that OpenAI has created a model with “human-like” reasoning skills. A demo of that model was reportedly shared with OpenAI employees during an internal all-hands meeting Tuesday; however, it’s unknown if that model was also Strawberry.
