Have a song stuck in your head but don’t know who sings it? If you have YouTube Music on Android, you can now hum a few bars, and the app will (hopefully) identify it.After testing the feature last year, Google is rolling it out to a wider audience. To use it, make sure you’re running at least version 7.02 of the app and tap the magnifying glass in the top-right corner of YouTube Music for Android and look for the waveform icon. Tap it and perform the song however you’d like: humming or on your baby grand.Once YouTube can determine what song you’re after based on your musical stylings, it will provide a full-screen results page that will tell you the song’s name, the artist, and other relevant information like its release year and what album it’s on. The app will also display the cover art for that album.

If the feature sounds familiar, Google rolled out a similar tool for Google Search in 2020. Traditional YouTube and music-streaming app Deezer also offer a hum-to-identify feature.
