Apple’s M3 MacBook Air has made its way to Apple’s Refurbished Store. The M3 MacBook Air was announced in March and starts at $1,099 for the 13-inch. As MacRumors reports, refurbished versions showed up on Apple’s US website on Friday. They start at $929 for the 13-inch model and $1,099 for the 15-inch version, with prices increasing based on RAM or storage. The standard version comes with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.In our review of the 13-inch model, we found that Apple “shoehorns more performance into its slim chassis, and amps up the external-monitor support and gaming capability,” making it the best ultraportable Mac. On the downside, the camera notch on the front of the screen was distracting, while the computer had lower peak display brightness than expected. But it (and the 15-inch version) still earned a 4/5 score and our Editors’ Choice award. It’s worth noting that Amazon currently has the non-refurbished version of the 13-inch even cheaper—at $899—via the Apple Store’s official storefront on Amazon.

Refurbished versions of electronics are fully operational but have been used and returned; some were simply removed from the box and then sent back. According to Apple, the machines go through “full functional testing, genuine Apple part replacements (if necessary), and a thorough cleaning.” They’re then repackaged in a new box with all accessories and cables. They also include a one-year warranty.
